A84, No 16
“A-84, No. 16” is an abstract mixed media painting, part of a series inspired by the Schmidt Ocean Institute’s research in the Bellingshausen Sea. The artwork evokes the thriving ecosystem and newly discovered species found beneath a floating glacier that had detached from the Antarctica Peninsula ice sheet.
This piece was created using a process-driven technique. Frozen acrylic, ink, watercolor pigments are carefully placed on wood panel and allowed to melt; subtly manipulated with a fan to determine the composition and embody nature’s transformative forces.
